I think I know, Clint. Talk about irony - I agree.

The juxtaposition of Jim's moving testimony yesterday, and the call to retire the remainder of the $6 Million the new building cost Highland was rather, what shall I say, dstriking? [not sure if that's the right word or not,] but it did hit me too.

dstriking???

No wonder I questioned if it were the right word or not. Humpf!

How about "striking" instead?? LOL

Candy

Jim's witness was touching, moving, convicting. It could not have been any better, imho. He is so gentle, so full of love for his fellowman and for childen - he came across wonderfully well, imho. btw-Jim wasn't the messenger talking about the building's mortgage, that was left to one of the Elders.

Guess I don't convey my meaning very clearly via pixels. Humpf!

Welcome to the bionic Church.

Hey is there anywhere to get a beer here in Abilene. The Whitten Inn doesn't provide room service.

Jim, thank you for allowing God to work through you. I agree that paying off the debt is a good thing. Highland is trying to go missional. It may be that Sunday was a call to arms. I think a good way to transition into a missional church would be to match what we have spent on our selves, the same amount of money, in the same amount of time and spend it out side the church. Then there would be no doubt we want to be missional.
